Purpose To report the incidence of back pain after photodynamic therapy, which suggests methods for prevention that are related to its pathogenesis. Design Retrospective case series. Methods We retrospectively observed 548 patients who had undergone photodynamic therapy with verteporfin. Results Of 548 patients at the first treatment, 14 patients (2.6%) experienced pain during the infusion. Eleven patients were being treated for age-related macular degeneration; their mean age was 81 years, which significantly differed from the mean age of the overall age-related macular degeneration group ( P = .003). The objective of this prospective clinical study was to analyze the pain (intensity, location and type) that patients presented after the placement of different types of orthodontic appliances: conventional, low friction, lingual and aligners. The sample consisted of 120 patients divided into four groups: conventional (CON), low friction (LF), lingual (LO) and aligners (INV). Purpose The aim of this study is to present a clinical series of patients with trigeminal neuropathy and their treatment. Patients and Methods We present a retrospective study of 15 cases of idiopathic trigeminal neuropathies, with unilateral involvement of 1 or more divisions of the trigeminal nerve. The clinical, radiologic, and laboratory data of the patients, in addition to the treatment and clinical evolution, were reviewed. Background: The aim of this study was to assess the complications at donor site after lingual mucosal graft harvesting for urethroplasty. Methods: From March 2006 to December 2006, 30 patients of anterior urethral stricture underwent lingual mucosal graft urethroplasty. The site of the harvest graft was lateral mucosal lining of the tongue. Donor site complications, that is, pain, slurring of speech, pain during speech, salivatory changes and difficulty in protrusion of tongue were noted.
